The Chairpersons had shared their thoughts on the CK Birla Group’s commitment towards making Diversity and Inclusion a strategic lever for transformation. The proposed DI Charter focuses on creating a respectful and inclusive workplace that can lead to “shifts” around the 4 diversity levers of gender, religion, age and ability by 2020.
Since then, I have had deliberations with my women leaders, HR and the Group DI Task force to visualise what the Diversity and Inclusion Road-map for our Organization should look like. On the Gender front, the Group aims to have women comprising at least 20% of the Leadership Space (L1+L2) by 2020. AT CK Birla Hospitals, women today comprise 27% of the L1+L2+L3 levels. By 2020, I would like women to comprise at least 40% of the leadership team and Consultant Team.
I am very pleased to share an exciting DI Road-map that we have scripted for the first year, which will help us eventually reach our Vision 2020.
The first year is a year of enablement and sensitisation and will focus on the following 5 themes:
To kick-off our DI journey, we will be organizing a leadership workshop called A Fine Balance in the New Year, where I look forward to candid conversations on the opportunities and challenges of building gender-balanced organisations.
May each of us be the change that we want to see!
